Research Grants in Israel Studies

Faculty affiliated with the Centre for Jewish Studies are eligible to apply for research grants in Israel Studies.  Grants will be awarded for up to $2000 per year to cover costs associated with a research project in Israel Studies. Grant applications in Israel Studies will be adjudicated by the Israel Studies Grants Committee.

Faculty affiliated with the Centre for Jewish Studies are eligible to apply for support for travel to Israel for the purposes of participating in an academic conference, workshop, or symposium that contributes substantially to research or to teaching at York University.  Support will be up to the amount of $1,000 per trip, with preference given to faculty who have not yet received such support in a given academic year, and may be used for travel costs, including airfare, ground transportation, conference fees, and lodging.  Faculty may apply for travel support in advance, and should submit a letter of invitation or program indicating the purpose of travel, along with a budget that includes other sources of funding.
